Frontline Technology announced today it signed on as Champion for the 20th Cybersecurity Awareness Month. Held each October, Cybersecurity Awareness Month, promotes cybersecurity awareness and best practices. The Cybersecurity Awareness Month Champions Program is a collaborative effort among businesses, government agencies, colleges and universities, associations, nonprofit organizations, and individuals committed to online safety.

From mobile to connected home devices, technology intertwines more with our lives every day. While technology evolves at breakneck speed, cybercriminals work hard to keep in step. They engineer new ways to compromise technology and disrupt personal and business life. Cybersecurity Awareness Month aims to highlight emerging cybersecurity challenges and provide actionable guidance anyone can follow. We strive to make a safer and more secure digital world for ourselves and our loved ones.

Secure Our World

The new theme of Cybersecurity Awareness Month moving forward is Secure Our World. Frontline Technology joins the effort to highlight four key cybersecurity best practices:

  1. Password managers. Understanding the benefits of using a password manager and dispelling existing myths around password manager security and ease of use. For a bit on the ideal password and qualities you should seek in a password manager, check out Password Management Made Easy.
  2. Multifactor Authentication (MFA). Enabling MFA on personal devices and business networks.
  3. Phishing. Recognizing and reporting phishing. Phishing is still one of the primary threat actions used by cybercriminals today. Learn more from our blog, Phishing Scheme Red Flags.
  4. Updates. Installing updates on a regular basis and turning on automated updates. In amongst all the feature updates, you will often find patches. These free security updates patch security gaps within your system. Cybercriminals use vulnerability scanners to check for vulnerabilities quickly after a gap is made public. Protect yourself by installing updates regularly—or in some cases automatically!
